I've just booked to come again this year. This will be our 3rd visit to zaton. The first visit may/June 2016 was in a tent via go4camp and we couldn't have been happier. Clean washrooms, showers and sink areas. Great pool and beach areas. Then we stayed in a excellence caravan. Omg we were spoilt. Clean, lots of space both inside and out. Unfortunately we were disappointed as the pool was still being upgraded and we hadn't been told or compensated BUT the wibit in the sea was often free for my g... More I've just booked to come again this year. Unfortunately we were disappointed as the pool was still being upgraded and we hadn't been told or compensated BUT the wibit in the sea was often free for my girls which wasn't expected but much appreciated. We like to travel about. Nearby Nin is wonderful and not a far walk. Also Ninsk Laguna is a must visit. The 3 supermarkets outside of the resort are a 10 minute walk away. The bus stop with buses going to zadar (heaven on earth) and Virs and other neighbouring towns for a small charge, is only 15 minutes walk away. My 2 daughter's were 10 and 11 in 2016 and I'm quite protective but their safety was never an issue. There's security visible always and staff everywhere. They are so confident here as am I that they are allowed so much freedom and in this day and age that is incredibly rare. The on-site supermarket is pretty reasonable and there's often fresh fruit and veg sold outside. The staff there, again are lovely. And even remembered my girls and are more than happy to teach them a little croatian :) Like I said we are back again this year and really looking forward to the new pool area. I don't think I would like it so much in the height of the season but during May-June this place is truly wonderful. I'm a single mum with daughter's and I'm happy and secure in their health and safety that I barely see them. So I get lots of alone time too. We tend to cook our own meals but we have eaten on-site a couple of times. My daughter's favourite is a little cafe/restaurant near the beach and stage area. If they are bathing down at the beach and playing on the wibit, they love to order and share a pizza and fries. The staff always treat them beautifully even though they are young. We love the mix of people here too. German, Italian, French, croatian and a few English. Lastly I do not drive. So we fly in and get a taxi here. We usually arrive much later, around 11pm but we have always been met with polite reception staff and then greater the next day by our reps. Never had a problem here. A few people have said everything costs. Yes it does, this isn't an all inclusive resort but it isn't expensive. As with any holiday, you pay what you can afford. It's self catering so go to the supermarket and cook if the restaurants are too much. Take a towel and a cushion if you don't wish to pay for a sunlounger. Walk around outside of the resort or hire a bike. You can spend you life being unhappy with what you've got. We could have been miserable about the pool last year but what's the point. Mistakes happen, delays happen. Make the most of the beautiful place your in. Stop moaning! I love Zaton and so do my kids. 5 stars all the way. Ps I'd love a discount this year hahaha Looking forward to our holiday May/June 2018 at Zaton x
