Skocjan Caves - into the depths

Skocjan Caves seem to be a different world: they are system of caves, peaceful, completely natural, not crowded, an underground system of stone bridges, stalactites, stalagmites and a river. They belong to the UNESCO natural heritage.

Do you know that bridge in The Lord of the Rings? The Bridge of Khazad-dûm? - You will be more than surprised!

You can choose between two parts. The small part is a tall tunnel that follows the river under the village of Škocjan. (This is an easy walk, suitable also for families with kids, older than 10 years). The big part is where it gets really interesting though... those caverns are something from a fantasy realm (not for kids).
