Croatia’s coast is speckled with a multitude of magnificent islands. There’s an enormous variety, both in size and character – some are verdant, others arid, some are deserted (on some of them overnight stays are not allowed), while others host historic towns or buzzing resorts. Some of the nearer islands are connected to the mainland by bridges, while the rest can be reached by Croatia’s broad ferry network. A trip over the Adriatic means viewing white cliffs and green hills over the sparkling water and presents a wonderful experience in itself.
